Friends in Need: Katrina Relief for Libraries
The American Library Association (ALA) has established the Hurricane Katrina Library Relief Fund to raise funds to help rebuild libraries in the ravaged Gulf Coast region. More than 100 school libraries and 25 public libraries were damaged or destroyed beyond repair, and a number of academic libraries lost major portions of their collections. Please consider making a tax-deductible donation to the Relief Fund. Make your check payable to 'ALA' and mark the funds for the ‘ALA Hurricane Katrina Relief Fund'. Send it to the ALA Chapter Relations Office, 50 East Huron Street, Chicago, IL 60611.
