The Chapel Hill Public Library is the busiest public library in North Carolina. Volunteer support helps to make it the best in the state as well!
The Friends of the Chapel Hill Public Library need volunteers
- to help with our quarterly booksales;
- to staff the reception desk at the CHPL; and
- at events including lectures, concerts, and meet-the-author teas.
Booksale volunteers set up and pack up books, work as cashiers, and staff the membership table. Reception desk volunteers greet Library patrons and provide directional assistance. Events volunteers set up and take down chairs, serve and clean up refreshments, and staff our membership table.
The Chapel Hill Public Library needs volunteers to
- shelve books;
- process books; and
- prepare program materials in Children’s Services.
No experience is necessary. We encourage all residents to volunteer their time and their talent to help us further the excellence of Chapel Hill Public Library.
