Programs for Children

With generous and enthusiastic support from the Friends, the Chapel Hill Public Library sponsors a number of activities for children of all ages. Many require pre-registration at the Information Desk in the Children's Services Department. Click here for more information.

Time For Toddlers

For children 18-36 months old. Pre-registration required. Sign up at the Children's Desk at the Library to attend 20 minutes of stories, songs and activities with your toddler. Wednesdays and Thursdays at 10:15am and 11:00am

Story Time

Recommended for children ages 3-5. Free tickets are available at the Children's Desk about 20 minutes before the program begins. Tuesdays at 10:40am and 3:30pm

Junior Book Club

A book club for children in grades 1-3. Pre-registration required. Two Mondays each month from 4:00-4:30 pm.

Bookworms Club

A book discussion group for children in grades 3-5. Stop by the Information Desk in the Children's Services Department to register and pick up a copy of the book. Two Thursdays monthly, 4:00 - 4:30 pm.

For Older Children and Teens

A book discussion group for children in grades 6 and up. The group meets one Thursday evening each month from 7:00-8:00 pm in the Conference Room on the lower level of the Library.
